The main objective of AREA Nepal is overall development of  poorest, deprived  and disadvantaged community through integrated way and participatory approach. The specific objectives of AREA Nepal are;

• —Implement development programs to improve socio-economic status of poor, marginalized, oppressed and vulnerable groups in rural areas.
• —Implement the development project on sustainable agriculture, food security, livestock farming, safe drinking water, health and sanitation, renewable energy, irrigation and rural infrastructure.
• —Implement income generating programs and micro-enterprises to improve livelihood of poorest, deprived and disadvantaged groups.
• —Promote the indigenous knowledge, skill and resources to conservation of natural resources and bio-diversity.
• Implement emergency relief  and rehabilitation programs.
• —Conduct issue based research  on socio-economic , climate change, agriculture and other  development  issues.
• —Conduct evaluation/studies of development projects, programs, model and approaches.
• —Campaign at the local and national levels on the issues of poverty, human rights, climate change, environment conservation and key development issues.
• —Promote organic vegetable farming.
